Revlon Colorstay Foundation

When I was in my teens, I had every skin problem known to man. Acne, dryness, flaking, peeling, you name it. But my skin was never very oily. Enter the 20's. My skin is still acne prone, and I still get random flaky spots, and on top of all that, it is now oily! (I think the skin gods are conspiring against me.)

I've tried many, many foundations, normally with less-than-stellar results. Until this... *Hallelujah Chorus*... the Colorstay foundation! I use the combination/oily skin formula in the second lightest color, buff. I'm extremely pale with pink undertones, and this matches me perfectly. It has amazing coverage and staying power, and is a life saver for those of us with problem skin.

I powder over my foundation with a loose translucent powder (usually just a cheap NYC powder) to set it, and it's good to go. If you're looking for a good foundation and don't want to go with a more expensive brand, Colorstay might work for you. I got mine at RiteAid and paid around $13, which is a little more than I would usually spend, but I'm glad I did.

e.l.f. Essentials Brightening Eye Color

I am in love with these eyeshadow quads, and have one in almost every color they make. The color shown is my favorite, Day 2 Night. They are great to throw in your makeup bag or purse, and the color payoff is good. They are also super inexpensive and $1 each. They're available online and in Target stores. They blend well and the colors always go together quite nicely.

The only problem I have with them is that if you order online, the colors shown on the website are nothing close to what they actually look like. For example, in the Day 2 Night quad, the upper right hand color is a shimmering metallic tan/silver, the lower right is a dark grey/black, upper left hand is an amazing shimmering off white (great for the browbone and inner corners), and the lower left is a dark purple with reddish undertones. So if you are a first time buyer I would recommend going in to a Target and seeing the colors before you decide which to buy.

Avon Shine Attract Lipstick

What I like most about this lipstick is that all the colors are very muted. If you like super bright lips, this might not be for you, but I love it. All the colors are quite sheer and glossy, great for everyday wear. They go on smoothly and stay put for a while. I tend to like a little extra shine, so I put a clear gloss over the top and reapply if it seems to be getting dry.

It's available online at shop.avon.com, and also through your local Avon representative. You can search for one online.

 Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo

This is an awesome product if you have hair that gets oily at the roots or loses volume easily. My hair will usually hold volume for a few hours, but then it goes blah. Spray a little of this stuff on there, and ta-da! All better.

If you spray too close, it can give your hair a grey/white color, so spray holding the can about 8 inches from your head, then work the product through with your fingers or a comb.

It's also good if you don't like washing your hair every day. I usually wash mine daily, but if I'm having a lazy day I'll spray some on and throw it up in a messy bun, and it makes my hair feel much less gross. I got mine at Walmart for less than $3, and it's available in drugstores too.
